Canon PIXMA TS5150

Home all-in-one — most issues are wireless band mismatches or dried nozzles after idle weeks.

Wi‑Fi that won’t stick

The TS5150 expects 2.4 GHz. If your router only advertises a combined SSID that steers devices to 5 GHz, create a dedicated 2.4 GHz network for the printer. After joining, print a LAN details page and confirm an IP before adding it on Windows/macOS.

Ink and print head

  1. Reseat FINE cartridges; clean gold contacts gently if “ink not detected” appears.
  2. Run a nozzle check from the device or Canon utilities.
  3. Use cleaning sparingly — deep cleans consume ink.
  4. If the printer sat unused, run two standard cleans over a day rather than one aggressive cycle.

Scanning

Install Canon’s scan utility from Canon UK Support. USB scanning is the fallback when Wi‑Fi scanning fails through a firewall.

Support codes

Note any support code on the screen before restarting — it maps to Canon’s documentation and saves guesswork.
